What is an EVE breast prosthesis?
EVE breast prostheses are molds that mimic a woman's existing breast. A scan of the body and the (remaining) breast in the bra is made. Then, a 3D mold is created that represents the shape of the breast prosthesis.
With an EVE breast prosthesis, women can have their bras conform to their bodies after undergoing surgery. This applies to women who underwent a mastectomy due to breast cancer, or women who underwent breast-conserving surgery but still require a prosthesis.
An EVE breast prosthesis ensures that every woman who needs one feels feminine, confident, and comfortable. The prosthesis is shaped to perfectly fit the existing tissue. This takes into account the healthy breast, your needs, and the condition of the breast for which the EVE breast prosthesis is being used.
How is my breast prosthesis made?
All EVE breast prostheses are custom-made. No two bodies are the same, especially when women need a breast prosthesis for any reason. Several steps are taken to develop a prosthesis that fits the breast perfectly, regardless of scarring or skin deformity.

Intake interview with our specialist
The development of EVE breast prostheses always begins with an initial consultation with our specialist. You'll receive an explanation of the product and the development process, and the specialist will map out the final design. This involves a scan, measurements, and your preferences for the prosthesis, such as the color.
First, tell us about your situation. This way, the specialist can get a good idea of the type of prosthesis needed. This can be different for women who have undergone a full mastectomy and those who have suffered minor damage. We will also discuss your wishes and needs for the perfect breast prosthesis.
- Scan with and without bra
We then use a scanner to image your breasts and create the correct molds. The specialist will also take measurements. This way, the specialist gathers all the information needed to ensure your EVE breast prosthesis fits your body seamlessly.
It is important to take the following into account when performing this scan:
- A scan is made of your breasts with and without a bra;
- A black bra will not work well for the scan, so wear a bra of a different color;
- Do not wear a push-up bra during the scan, as this may prevent the cup of the prosthesis from being properly identified.

Choose color
During the intake, you will also be asked to choose the color of the implant. You can use a standard implant to see which color best matches your skin tone.

3D model
After all the information for the breast prosthesis has been collected, your prosthesis is made in a 3D mold, so that you have a good idea of the size and shape of the breast prosthesis.

Agree with design
Are you completely satisfied with the design shown in the 3D model? Then your actual prosthesis will be developed.

To fit
Your EVE breast prosthesis is ready! Time to try it on. You can try it on with several bras to properly test the fit. Does it fit your body well? Is it aligned with your other breast? All in all, does it feel like a good fit for you?
Prosthesis bra maintenance
We recommend cleaning your breast prosthesis daily. Store it in the included EVE pouch. This will extend its lifespan. Always store it dry and ensure it is always clean before use. You can clean it with talcum powder. Apply it to the front of the EVE breast prosthesis and clean it with a large powder brush.
The specialist will explain the care of EVE implants in detail. You will also be given detailed instructions on how to apply them. You will also receive an instruction card explaining aspects such as the maintenance and care of breast implants.
Swimming with EVE breast prostheses
One of the greatest advantages of EVE breast prostheses is that they're easy to wear while swimming and exercising. You'll never have to worry about wearing a special bikini or swimsuit again, and can enjoy the beach or sports without a care in the world.
Does your health insurer cover an EVE breast prosthesis?
While every woman who needs one deserves a custom-made breast prosthesis, full reimbursement isn't always a given. So, when are EVE breast prostheses fully reimbursed?
If you have a referral from your doctor for a breast prosthesis, you can come to us for an intake consultation, where a scan will be performed. The scan will then be sent to our supplier. They will then provide a proposal, and our specialist will write a motivation letter explaining why you need a custom-made breast prosthesis. Both documents will be sent to your health insurer. If your insurer approves, production will begin automatically, and you will receive full reimbursement.
