Underwear becomes outerwear

Underwear is becoming outerwear. We're seeing this trend grow more and more. It seems like it's no longer taboo to wear lingerie in plain sight. It's become commonplace to wear bras as tops in summer. A touch daring, sexy, but just barely on the edge...

Return of a trend

We could actually say the trend has returned. We all know the American singer Madonna. Didn't she often show herself with "underwear as an outer layer"? Fans of the singer undoubtedly remember this from her music videos and concerts. The Madonnas of today are clearly showing off. Perhaps slightly differently, but we see a lot in common. This means the trend is making a comeback, hopefully, it will last a while.

About five or six years ago, large, chaste panties were fashionable, worn under feminine and sheer dresses and skirts. The focus now is primarily on bras and busters worn as such, as well as dresses that could easily be mistaken for (chic) negligees.

Color trends

The colors that are prominently featured are black, white, and cream lace. This is especially evident in combinations with silk and sheer materials. On the catwalk, we see clear trends emerging: bras and lace tops in cream white, paired with wide silk trousers.

We see a lot of black lace at fashion shows. Many designers easily send Mediterranean women down the catwalk in sultry black lace.

Extra dimension

Now that tops have become more popular again, people are also being more daring. Tops—with a bra underneath, of course—that reveal a bare lower belly look elegant and add a whole new dimension to the summer trends. Now all we have to do is wait for summer to arrive!
